Three teenagers accused of sexualized violence against other children have been sentenced in Yekaterinburg, It's My City reports . The three seventeen-year-old defendants studied with their victims at the closed special school No. 124, where, according to the prosecution, humiliation, beatings and rape of some students by others were practiced.
The Chkalovsky District Court issued a verdict, according to which two teenagers were sentenced to nine years in a correctional colony, and another to seven. Those who received a longer term will also have to pay 500 thousand rubles in compensation to those who suffered from their actions.
Two defendants were charged with five counts of "violent sexual acts" against one minor pupil of a special school and one similar case against two other minors. A third teenager was found guilty of four counts of sexualized violence against one child.
Complaints about the rules at the closed special school began to arrive in the spring of 2023. A 12-year-old child who ran away from the educational institution said that "comradely courts" were held for children for bad behavior at the school. As a punishment, older children were offered to have oral sex with the "defendant". Participants in the "comradely courts" decided by vote whether to "bully", let go, or "scold" the offender.
"The highest measure is to be 'zachuhanit'. This is when they can perform anal or oral sex, piss on you," the runaway student told 66.ru. "The teacher said so, and the kids do it," the teenager said. "The teacher is not involved. But everyone knows what's going on."
The prosecutor demanded that all three be sentenced to the maximum possible term for minors, ten years in prison. The victims' lawyers asked the court to collect compensation for moral damages from the special school in the amount of 10 million rubles. But the court refused.
The defendants told the newspaper's correspondent that they do not admit guilt: "The victims are confused in their testimony. They simply caused a stir and it turned out that we were locked up and not even released under house arrest."
The victims' lawyer Georgy Krasnov said that he was not happy about the verdict, "because the lives of three underage boys were completely ruined." The lawyer noted that the former director of the special school, Natalya Poddubnaya, did not receive a real sentence - she was sentenced to 11 months of correctional labor and banned from managing educational institutions for two years. However, there is no ban on teaching, and the former director, according to Georgy Krasnov, got a job at secondary school No. 106 in Yekaterinburg.
The second lawyer for the victims, Olesya Bortnikova, said that she would appeal the verdict, insisting on the recovery of moral damages from the special school. "The institution's employees bore full responsibility for the children's behavior," the lawyer explained.
The case of violence against children in the closed special school No. 124 involved 12 episodes. In April 2023, the first 16-year-old teenager was sent to pretrial detention for the first episode of the case - sexualized violence against a 12-year-old schoolboy. This episode became known thanks to a child who escaped from the educational institution and witnessed the incident.
