The captured Ukrainian died in a pre -trial detention center Rostov

The prisoner of war driver of the Azov regiment Alexander Ishchenko died in the Rostov-on-Don pre-trial detention center, the correspondents of the Mediazone and TASS from the court of the Azov fighters report.

The jailers have not yet provided the southern district military court in the death of Ishchenko, the date and causes of death are unknown. The 55-year-old Ishchenko joined Terboron at the very beginning of a full-scale war, February 25, 2022. He was captured in the spring of the same year during the defense of Mariupol. In Ukraine, he had a wife.

Later, Ishchenko and 23 more fighters and civil servants of Azov were accused of actions aimed at forcible seizure of power (Article 278 of the Criminal Code), participation in the activities of a terrorist organization (Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code) and undergoing training in order to carry out terrorist activities (Article 205.3 of the Criminal Code).

Not all of the defendants defended Mariupol, some at the time of the start of the war had already left the service and were detained during the “filtration”.

Two prisoners from this case - David Kasatkin and Dmitry Labinsky - returned to Ukraine as part of an exchange. Also among prisoners are nine women - mostly the cooks of Azov.
