Deputies immediately adopted in all readings a bill synchronizing the processes of obtaining acquired Russian citizenship and registering a citizen for military service, TASS reports .
It is necessary to register for military service before taking the oath of citizenship of the Russian Federation. Failure to comply with this requirement will be grounds for deprivation of citizenship.
The day before, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin reported that the bill had been submitted to the lower house of parliament. On Monday, deputies proposed increasing the term of military service for citizens with acquired citizenship to two years. They plan to adopt the corresponding amendment by August 4.
