YouTube in Russia recorded failures

According to the service, the number of complaints about the work of YouTube from Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Novosibirsk Region and the Krasnodar Territory has grown sharply.

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, difficulties also arise when downloading a video from the desktop, Siberia said users. “It works poorly, especially long videos,” one of the users explained.

Residents of Buryatia complained about the poor work of the program on desktops, although there are no problems when downloading from phones, Baikal-Daily reports.

• In July, State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein said that the authorities intend to slow down YouTube for desktopes by 70%. Hinshtein calls the slowdown of video hosting a forced step, "directed not against Russian users, but against the administration of a foreign resource, which still believes that he can violate and ignore our legislation with impunity."
• At the same time, Khinshtein later clarified that the “slowdown” will be due to the fact that the Google server located in Russia has not been served since the beginning of the war. And the company turned off part of the servers.
• After the invasion of Ukraine, YouTube blocked many pro -Kremlin channels. Opposition media, on the contrary, continue to work on a video hosting.
• In early July, the YouTube administration blocked the channels of a number of Russian singers and artists who actively support the war in Ukraine. Among them are the shaman, Grigory Leps, Polina Gagarina, Oleg Gazmanov and Julia Chicherina. The reason for the locks was the restrictive measures introduced against Russian singers of the United States and the European Union as part of the so-called 14th package of sanctions.
