
A native of Ukraine Peter Opalnik was sentenced to eight years in a general regime in a criminal case of confidential cooperation with a foreign state and voluntary surrender. This was reported by the human rights project the first department.
Also, the Opulnik is appointed a year of restriction of freedom. Human rights activists explained that this means that for another 12 months after the end of the deadline, the opal will not be able to leave Russia.
The prosecution requested 9 years in prison, a fine of 500 thousand rubles and restriction of freedom for a year.
Peter Opelnik was born in the village of Kleban in the Vinnitsa region of Ukraine. In 2011, he moved to Russia, in 2019 he received a view of residents, and in 2022 - Russian citizenship. Once a year, Opellar went to Ukraine and published photos from trips on his social networks.
He lived in the city of Pestovo in the Novgorod region, at first he built wooden houses for eight years, and then became a manager for the sale of houses, and also engaged in their insurance. In Ukraine, he had an elderly mother, sister and daughter from his first marriage.
On January 18, 2023, Peter Opalnik was detained at the exit of the house, he conducted searches in the criminal case of confidential cooperation with Ukraine. Later he was added another accusation - an attempt to organize voluntary surrender. According to the investigation, the opal "incuted the treason mobilized to the commission by providing the enemy with information about the disclocation of military formations, the abduction and transfer of military equipment and voluntary surrender."
