Dmitry Markov is a documentary photographer, volunteer and author of photo reports about provincial Russia, shot on the iPhone. He grew up during the collapse of the USSR in the city of Pushkino in the Moscow region. “Perhaps that is why his photographs seem filled with htonyus of Russian life,” the organizers write. - However, behind external gloomy and longing, Markov manages to make out the beauty, and most importantly - great love, or at least hope for it. Markov empathizes with a person and complements the wealth of the world with his works, making him amazing for the better. ”

Dmitry Markov died in Pskov in February 2024. He was 41 years old. He fought for most of his life with drug addiction, which he honestly talked about in social networks and interviews. “In recent days, Dmitry experienced pressure from readers in social networks because of a position in relation to his friends called up for war in Ukraine,” wrote the Pskov province channel. As the colleague Markov later told the “survivors” project, an overdose was the cause of death.
