According to the woman, her parents left the village on August 9. On this day, several neighbors saw the Ukrainian military on armored vehicles by the Psel River near the village.

“Friends were from the other side of the village, engaged in farming, fed cattle. We heard the equipment. They grabbed the documents and ran through the forest. Already in the neighboring villages, they met volunteers who helped them get to Kursk, ”said the interlocutor of Novo-Europe, who agreed to talk on anonymity.

In their path, women did not meet the Russian military in their path. Nobody organized or explained the evacuation of citizens where and how to leave, the interlocutor of the New-Europe added.

The village of Plekhovo is located on the Psel River 2.5 kilometers from the Russian-Ukrainian border. According to the latest census, 583 people lived there. The interlocutor of Novo-Europe explained that many left the village in this and last years under the resettlement program from the border regions. Most of the remaining are pensioners.

“From the first days [the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region] they heard explosions - mainly at night. Drones flew above the village. Of course, it was scary, but my parents and their neighbors, until the last, hoped that they could leave, ”said a local resident. - But when messages about the military at the river appeared, everyone fled. At the same time, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported on 74 points in which the Armed Forces of Ukraine are present.
