A federal emergency regime has been introduced in the Belgorod Region

Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov announced the introduction of a federal emergency regime throughout the Belgorod Region. He spoke about this on his Telegram channel.

As Gladkov reported, the decision to introduce a state of emergency was made by the Emergencies Ministry commission at a meeting in Moscow today. TASS writes that during the commission meeting, Emergencies Ministry head Alexander Kurenkov justified the need to introduce a federal state of emergency by the fact that, against the backdrop of Ukrainian shelling of the Belgorod region, "the scale of what is happening does not allow the region to independently eliminate the consequences of the current emergency situation."

Yesterday, a regional emergency regime was introduced in the Belgorod Region "to protect the population and provide additional assistance to victims." As the head of the region specified at the time, the situation in the Belgorod Region remains "extremely difficult and tense."

Since August 9, a federal emergency regime has been in effect in the Kursk region. In addition, on the night of August 10, a counter-terrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in the Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk regions against the backdrop of an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on border areas.
