Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree on the pardon of 30 people, “convicted of protest orientation crimes,” reports the Pologram channel “Pool of the First” close to the press service of the head of Belarus.
According to him, among pardoned 14 women and 16 men, some of them have serious diseases. There are also pensioners among them. The names of pardoned are not yet disclosed.
“They all pleaded guilty, sincerely repented of the deed and took the obligation to lead a law -abiding way of life. Monitoring the fulfillment of such obligations on behalf of the head of state will be ensured by the Ministry of the Interior, ”added the“ pool of the first ”.
On July 30, it became known that Lukashenko pardoned the German citizen Rico Krieger, sentenced in Belarus to the death penalty. He returned to his homeland in the framework of a large -scale exchange of Militia, Belarus and Western countries.
On July 2, on the eve of the Independence Day, Lukashenko announced the liberation of seriously ill political prisoners, "who broke, destroyed the country in 2020." The next day, he signed a corresponding decree. According to human rights activists from the Vasna Center, then at least 18 political prisoners were released: four women and 14 men.
