On August 8, the Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan refused to extradite 29-year-old Kyrgyz citizen Alina Gorshenina at Russia's request. This was reported by Setevye Svobody.
After this, the local court ruled to release Gorshenina from extradition arrest, she is already at large. In Russia, she is accused of threatening Khimki City Court judge Elena Morozova and prosecutor Elena Koloskova (Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code), who were participants in the hearing on Alexei Navalny's case on January 18, 2021.
On June 9, the girl was arrested for 40 days in Kazakhstan to decide on extradition, later extended. At the first court hearing, Gorshenina was represented by a court-appointed lawyer who agreed with the judge on everything.
According to RusNews, the case against Gorshenina was opened on June 22, 2023, and in December she was put on the international wanted list. According to the investigation, in 2023, the girl sent threats to Morozova and Koloskova from a Russian SIM card. However, the search order does not say how the investigation established Gorshenina's involvement in the case of threats. In addition, the girl is accused of "using violence dangerous to life or health" against a judge and a prosecutor who were in the Moscow region, while the defendant in the case herself did not leave Kyrgyzstan for the entire last year.
