Director of Tambov state institution to be fired after dancing with doll and whip

Tambov Region Governor Maxim Egorov promised to fire the director of the regional government's motor pool Andrei Selionov for "inappropriate behavior, albeit in connection with a personal holiday." The director of the state budgetary institution "Autobaza" found himself at the center of a scandal due to a video and photos from his birthday celebration.

On August 20, on his 51st birthday, Selionov arranged a dance with a puppet animator in his office, the Tambovsky Case Telegram channel reported, posting a video and a photo. The half-naked puppet in the video was dressed in a short skirt, short stockings and a bra. With a whip in his hands, the director hugged and squeezed the animator, exposed his breasts to the puppet and imitated sexual intercourse. In the video, a group of employees of the state institution dances together with the animator and Selionov.

"What happened only causes a feeling of shame and bewilderment," the Tambov governor wrote on his Telegram channel on the evening of August 22. The behavior demonstrated by the director of the motor depot is unacceptable for a manager, Yegorov said, adding that Selionov "certainly will not continue to hold his position."

The local publication "Abireg" reported that the dance for the director could have been ordered by colleagues at the motor depot. Journalists contacted Selionov, but he, according to them, decided "for now" not to comment on the situation.

Selionov has held the post of director of the state budgetary institution "Avtobaza" since November 2006. Before that, he headed the Tambov-Sport-Auto auto club.

Tambov Governor Yegorov positions himself as a defender of "family values." In May, he ordered the development of a regional state program "motivating young families to have their first child as early as possible." At the end of 2023, Yegorov introduced a bill to the regional Duma on fines for "inciting an artificial termination of pregnancy." In addition, the governorforced officials to transfer one day's wages to the needs of the army.
