The notion notion service will disable user accounts from Russia from September 9 due to US sanctions

The service for creating notes and databases of NOTION will cease to provide access to the platform to users from Russia from September 9, 2024, RBC reports with reference to the service statement. The company said this decision is related to US sanctions.

“The US government has introduced restrictions prohibiting access to certain software products and services to any person in Russia. In connection with these restrictions on September 9, 2024, notion will no longer be provided to users in Russia, access to the platform, ”TASS quotes a message on the Notion website.

After the termination of the platform in the country, all working spaces of the service with the Russian location will be closed.

• Russian users of Notion began to complain about blocking accounts in the service in the spring of 2022, although officially the company at that time did not report the restrictions. After the start of a full -scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the service ceased to work with cards of the Russian Federation. However, users from Russia could use the free version or pay for the subscription in other ways. In February 2024, notion, according to users, stopped opening in Russia without VPN.
