The France prosecutor’s office on August 26 issued an official press release in connection with the detention of the founder of Telegram Pavel Durov.

The department reported that Durov was detained on the evening of August 24 at the Le-Bourg Airport as part of a criminal investigation, which was launched on July 8 by the Cybercrime Council Department.

The investigation is carried out in relation to unidentified persons on 12 corpus delicti.

Now Durov is interrogated by investigators. The investigative judge authorized the extension of its detention up to 96 hours, so the founder of Telegram can be left in custody until August 28.
