The court in Moscow passed an absentee sentence to the Ukrainian diplomat Peter Vrublevsky because of the words about the murder of Russians

The Basmanny Court of Moscow passed an absentee sentence to the former ambassador of Ukraine in Kazakhstan Peter Vrublevsky, finding him guilty under the article on the initiation of hatred or enmity (paragraph “a” of part 2 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code). This evening of August 26 was reported in the Telegram channel by the press service of Moscow courts of general jurisdiction.

By a court decision, Vrubblevsky was sentenced to six years in prison. Vrubblevsky is located outside of Russia, so the term of conclusion will be calculated from the moment of its extradition to Russia or from the moment of detention in the Russian Federation.

The criminal case was opened due to an interview with Vrubblevsky, which he gave in August 2022, when he served as an ambassador of Ukraine in Kazakhstan. In an interview, he, in particular, said: "The more we kill Russians now, the less we will have to kill our children."

• In October 2022, the Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry called Peter Vrublevsky and protested him, but did not send him from the country. The actions of the authorities of Kazakhstan were criticized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, after which the Russian ambassador was already called to the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan. Against this background, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky fired Vrubblevsky from the post of ambassador.
