Court fines victim of subway attack

Singer Nastya Ermak, who was attacked in the metro by former police officer Vladimir Safonov in early July, was fined 15 thousand rubles, and the attacker only a thousand. This was reported by Moskovsky Komsomolets and confirmed by Ermak herself.

The Meshchansky Court of Moscow found Ermak guilty of petty hooliganism (Article 20.1, Part 3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) for a video posted on social media in which the girl is seen lashing out while running away from the man who attacked her.

“Yes, at the end of this video I quoted everything that Safonov told me, with all his swearing, and immediately posted it online,” Yermak confirmed.

According to the singer, only one girl who witnessed the incident responded to her request to come to court. Yermak also said that after the attack she was diagnosed with a "mental disorder". "I felt very bad mentally, and the doctors prescribed me antidepressants," the girl added.

In early July, Safonov kicked Yermak and her friend out of a subway car, calling them "faggots." The former police officer did not like the girl's appearance and her short haircut; he thought there were two men in front of him. Safonov could not stand this, since he himself, in his own words, is "a patriot and against LGBT." He told journalists that he was "unpleasant to look at" the young people.

"As the victim, I will now pay 15,000, and Safronov - 1,000. We can, of course, file a complaint and disagree with the court, but I will not do this. I will simply pay the fine. I do not want to waste time on courts," Yermak said after the court hearing.

The court had previously fined Vladimir Safonov one thousand rubles, also finding him guilty of petty hooliganism under Article (20.1, Part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
