Chandler's sweater to be auctioned off to celebrate Friends anniversary

An auction in Los Angeles to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the TV series Friends has been announced, which will include a replica of the famous orange sofa from the Central Perk coffee shop and Chandler's grey sweater, The Telegraph reports .

It is noted that the sofa is one of the main lots with an estimated value of 3 thousand dollars. The gray sweater worn by the character of the late actor Matthew Perry Chandler is estimated at 1.5 thousand dollars.

Other items on the list include Monica's striped jumper from season nine, Rachel's gray sweater from season seven, and Phoebe's denim coat. Also up for auction is a replica of the Central Perk sign, the Geller Cup, Joey's congratulatory speech at Monica and Chandler's wedding, and more than 100 other iconic items from the show.

The last anniversary auction of items from the series "Friends" took place in December 2019. According to Forbes , it was a charity auction, the proceeds of which were to go to support the Trevor Project, an organization fighting for the rights of the LGBTQ community. It is reported that that auction exceeded the organizers' expectations and raised $241.7 thousand.

In January 2024, Hansons auctioned off scripts for two episodes of Friends that had been found in a trash bin 25 years earlier. According to the auction house, the scripts were estimated to fetch between £600 and £800 ($791 to $1,054), but their price soared due to over 200 bids from around the world. The scripts eventually sold for £28,800 ($38,000).
