In the Kursk region, they begin to form an armed volunteer squad “Bars - Kursk” for “ensuring security” in areas where Ukrainian troops conduct an offensive operation. This was announced on August 29 by the acting head of the region Alexei Smirnov.
According to him, the new formation "will become an important link in maintaining law and order in the Kursk region."
Volunteers who want to join the detachment will undergo military training, and then they will “act in close interaction” with the Russian army in eight regions of the region, where evacuation was declared due to the onset of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The tasks of the detachment include not only ensuring security, but also participation in the life support of the resettled areas in order to support the remaining people at this difficult time,” the official wrote in his telegram channel.
Smirnov claims that the contract with volunteers will be concluded only for six months. At this time, they are guaranteed the preservation of jobs.
