A support group for political prisoner Andrei Shabanov, citing his mother, reported that he was given medication and was allowed to call his mother for the first time during his five years in the pre-trial detention center. The musician was also transferred to a cell with hot water and was promised a medical examination. On Monday, August 9, Andrei will also be transferred to the FSIN hospital in Samara.

At the end of August 2024, the court extended Andrei Shabanov’s detention in the pre-trial detention center for five months. At that time, the political prisoner’s relatives said that in the pre-trial detention center he was punished by deprivation of walks, and was also forbidden to walk during the day.
