"The Kadyrovites should answer"

The residents of Ingushetia were killed by the Wildberries building. How death was reacted to the republic. And will this lead to exacerbation between Chechens and Ingush

The main office of the Wildberries marketplace in the center of Moscow took place on September 18. The head of the company Tatyana Bakalchuk said that the conflict began due to the fact that her husband was trying to seize the building. Vladislav Bakalchuk came to the company's office along with his accompanying, most of whom are the Kadyrovites. Between them and the protection of the building, a shootout ensued, as a result, two guards from Ingushetia were killed. The plane from Moscow with the bodies of murdered men at the Ingush airport on the night of September 20 to 21 met thousands of people. The Ingush leaders of opinions asked them not to blame all the Chechens for the actions of the Kadyrovites and not to incite the interethnic conflict.

The correspondent of Novaya Gazeta Europe figured out how the conflict of the Bakalchuk spouses is connected with the North Caucasus and whether it will lead to an exacerbation of relations between Chechens and Ingush.

Secondly, see what is happening on the Internet. On the one hand, [Ingush] accuse the entire Chechen people, on the other hand, [Chechens] accuse all the Ingush. This is a big resonance. Why are you [representatives of the authorities] silent? If the spark explodes now, you will immediately begin to say: "Imam, stop people." Why are you silent?

You have all the money, you have all the resources, you eat all folk wealth. Why are the Ingush politicians silent? Why are Chechen politicians silent? <...> Because nothing cares about you, except for the plunder of folk remedies.

On September 21, the Imam of the Ingush mosque Hamzat Chumakov, who is very popular among young people, made this speech. A few hours before this performance, a charter flight flew to the republic with the bodies of two Ingush Islambek Elmurziev and Adam Almazov, who worked as guards at the Wildberries office. Thousands of people who chanted Allahu Akbar at the airport.

31-year-old Islambek Elmurziev was a master of sports in freestyle wrestling. The 41-year-old Adam Almazov used to work as a guard of the ex-president of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov, Almazov was also the deputy commander of the Akhmat-1 riot police battalion. During the shootout, three more Ingush athletes were injured: MMA fighter Abubakar Poyev, Boxing champion Rashid Kodzoev and the Greco-Roman style of Bokkhan Bekkhan Ozdoev.

From the very beginning of the conflict, the Kadyrovites were involved in it. On July 23, the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov in his Telegram channel published a video from a meeting with Vladislav Bakalchuk, where the man complains that his wife had left him and gave the business to the Caucasians. Kadyrov promised Vladislav that he would help him return both his wife and business.

The head of Chechnya gave Bakalchuk his people as a guard. With them, the man came to the Wildberries office on September 18. The police later detained the participants in the shootout, and the names of the Kadyrovites from the escort of Vladislav Bakalchuk became known. Among them were the native brothers Ali (Rustam) and Umar Chichaev from Chechnya.

The 35-year-old Umar Chichaev was engaged in the Akhmat martial arts club and worked as deputy platoon commander of Akhmat-1 riot police. In Social networks, Chichaev has photos with Ramzan Kadyrov and Adam Delimkhanov.

Among the detainees after the shootout was the brother of Umar - Ali Chichaev. The leader of the Chechen Opposition Movement 1adat Ibrahim Yangulbaev recognized him as an employee of the Chechen collection of Terek (now Akhmat special forces), who tortured him in 2015.

Ibrahim also claims that in 2019, Ali Chichaev was kicked out of the official service due to the fact that he used drugs. At the same time, the man continued to work for the closest ally of Kadyrov Adam Delimkhanov.

It is noteworthy that in 2020, Ali Chichaev, under the guise of a boxing coach, went to Ukraine. In the same year, the man was expelled from the country by decision of the migration service. The decree states that Chichaev arrived in Ukraine for “for organizing and performing custom-made criminal criminal offenses with a mercenary-violent orientation with the use of weapons, namely: robberies, extortions and execution of custom-made murders”.

The Moscow Court arrested Ali Chichaev in the case of the murder of Wildberries office guards for only 15 days.

The shooting at the Wildberries office caused a great resonance in Ingushetia. One of the reasons is that the murdered fighter Islambek Elmurziev was a famous person in the republic. On his Instagram account tens of thousands of people are signed. Ingush speaks of Elmurziev as a man who helped everyone. "

“Islambek was one of the best people I knew. Modest, decent, anyone who has come across him will tell you. He helped everyone, recently gave his plot of land, although he is a poor man, for the construction of a madrassah. I myself only learned yesterday that he paid courses on the study of the Qur'an for poor people. How could you just take and kill such a person, I do not know. The Kadyrovites decided that they have the right to everything, ” said Islambek's friend“ Freedom (not) behind the mountains.

Ten years ago, he even made a news story on Ingush television about him. Then Islambek saved a sinking person and received a reward for this from the Ministry of Emergencies.

The second reason for public resonance is the participation of the Kadyrovites in the conflict.

“The murder of these guys was a shock for everyone in the republic, like a thunder among a clear sky. Everyone on the lips is an event. But for me personally, this is not surprising - the Kadyrovites and all their supporters have repeatedly showed sincere hatred of our people over the past decade.

And I came to the funeral of these brothers, because I considered that at least with my presence among thousands of others I would support their loved ones, let them see how society appreciated these guys, ”the Ingush edition of Fortanga quoted the words of one of the men who met the bodies of the guards at the Magas Airport.

“It is right and necessary to blame the Kadyrovites,” a friend of the murdered guard Islambek Elmurziev says in a conversation with the New Gazeta of Europe, “but I am increasingly hearing our whole Chechen people.” We must share Kadyrovites and Chechens.

Such moods are really common in the republic. Ingush Alim (Muslim scientist) spoke to men gathered at the Magas airport, demanding "not to sow enmity between two Vainakh peoples."

- The families of the murdered guys did not declare blood feud to anyone. But if they do this, then direct killers and all Kadyrovites should answer before them, ”says the friend of the deceased guard Wildberries Islambek Elmurziev.

Ramzan Kadyrov really did not speak out about what happened. About the shootout at the Wildberries office they wrote almost nothing and the media controlled by the media. Also related to the Kadyrovites, Telegram channels accuse the killed Ingush of being terrorists. The Kadyrovites often use this rhetoric to discredit people who are objectionable to them.

At the same time, our interlocutors from Ingushetia and Chechnya note that there will be no growth of the interethnic conflict between the two peoples.

- I do not think that this will result in skirmishes between Chechens and Ingush. Both those and others understand that there are criminals, Kadyrovites who are to blame for this. They must bear their punishment, ”says Ibrahim Yangulbaev, the leader of the opposition movement of 1adat.
