Until the week before last, few people knew about the existence of Andrei Matus. In the federal media, he appeared only once, as a small resolver. Now he is the main character of the largest scandal in the Russian opposition. The special correspondent of The Bell Irina Pankratova studied who he was and contacted himself.

Why is it important

In mid-September, the Fund for Corruption issued an investigation that accused the former co-owner of Yukos Leonid Nevzlin of organizing an attack on the ex-head of the FBC Leonid Volkov, director of the Foundation Ivan Zhdanov and his wife, who criticized the economist Maxim Mirov, Alexander Petrachkov. Nevzlin himself called the investigation "a drained drain in Moscow." His former business partner Mikhail Khodorkovsky admitted that it was a provocation of the FSB.

Matus plays a crucial role in the scandal - it was he who conveyed the FBK to the non -Zaplin correspondence with the organizer of the attack by Anatoly Plinov, which formed the basis of the FBK investigation. At the same time, the correspondence was at the RT channel.

Over the past one and a half weeks, not a single evidence of falsification of the correspondence of Nevznin with Pancakes, in which they discussed attacks on the opposition representatives in detail.

But the fact that the source of compromise was the soliper associated with the security forces, gave the defenders of the non -Zealin reason to argue that both he and the entire Russian opposition fell victim to the provocation of the Russian special services. Matus, acting as an informant, is the weakest place in the FBK investigation.

• Firstly, the authors of the investigation themselves call him "solid" with "strong ties with the FSB and other security forces."
• Secondly, the motive of Matus to publish incriminating evidence against non-zero is completely unclear (Matus himself claims in an interview with The Bell correspondent that he worked for Nevznin for the last three years, and the materials in his hands decided to betray the publicity of altruistic reasons-“because it is too much to beat women with strollers ”.
• Finally, Matus, according to him, is currently in Moscow.

At the same time, Matus himself was still almost unknown. We decided to study his biography and business. When The Bell correspondent calculated Father Matus and sent him questions, Matus Jr. soon contacted her.

What was Andrey Matus on what earned

Andrei Matus is 39 years old. He was born in the Krasnodar Territory, in the city of Armavir. Over the years, he lived in Sochi, Anapa and Krasnodar. He received secondary education.

In 2016, Matus, judging by the SPARK, did not have official posts in Russian companies or shares in business. But at the same time, I went to Bentley Continental.

Matus himself claims that until 2019 his only place of work was the Gourmet company, registered in Anapa for his relatives. Judging by the SPARK, the company produced canned meat and participated with these products, including in tenders of the FSB coastal protection. At the same time, the revenue in the boots of the company from year to year was zero, and the liquidation of the legal entity in 2019 occurred by decision of the Federal Tax Service with reference to the fact that it does not work.

According to Matus, he did not do with tenders and state order, but simply rented out the premises of the meat workshop he bought. “My place of employment was the company“ Gourmet ”, my meat plant. I made part of the business for relatives, but they never participated in it. Yes, the revenue was not reflected in the company's boots, but the Russian business is arranged so, and you ask questions that you yourself know the answer, ”he said.

One of the acquaintances of Matus, with whom the Bell managed to communicate, describes his main occupation in a different way: Matus sold to local officials and entrepreneurs the service of the resolver. I learned from the security forces the cost of resolving a particular problem, added 25%to it, and performed an intermediary function, mainly on business in its native Krasnodar Territory. The problems, according to the interlocutor of The Bell, began when he tried to reach the federal level, representing the interests of customers from the center in the region. Matus “tried to drive the nose” and his local “curators” and the federal ones, promised one to customers, asked the security forces another, did not talk about the share that he leaves for himself - and in the end it all ended in a prison, the source says. In 2016, Matus was really convicted of fraud (his first criminal record was back in 2004, but in connection with which it is unknown).

The essence of the criminal case was that Matus promised the deputy head of the municipality of Anapa on property issues Svetlana Yarova for 37 million rubles to close the criminal case on her abuse of office, Kommersant wrote . Yarovaya gave him the money, but Matus did not solve the problem.

At first, the resident was waiting for the sentence under house arrest. But after a ticket was discovered at his house, at the request of the investigator in particularly important cases of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Ruslan Minihmetov, the preventive measure was changed for arrest. Matus appealed to the FSB with a statement that the miniakhmetov was extorted from him $ 5 million for the abolition of the sentence. The bribe took place, but its size was smaller - Matus handed over to Miniakhmetov “several hundred thousand dollars”, he wrote in a statement. Then they did not give a move, but in 2020 they remembered him and detained Miniihemov on charges of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale.

Miniakhmetov’s case was noticeable. The investigator himself was far from an ordinary employee of the UK, but by the honored veteran of the showdown of the security forces. He headed the investigative groups in the most high-profile criminal cases: in the case of General Bulbov , who became the main episode of the war of the security forces of the 2000s, in the “Kirovles case”, according to which Alexei Navalny received his first conditional term, and in the sensational case of the head of the anti-corruption head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Denis Sugrobov.

The detention of Miniakhmetov initiated the Office of the FSB - the investigator was charged and conducted three searches from him, but the next day the Prosecutor General’s Office abolished the decision to initiate the case, and Miniakhmetov was released, after which he immediately quit the SK. The media did not talk about the role of Matus in the media, but Kommersant wrote: “Mr. Matus is considered a professional victim - his statements have already become a reason for the criminal prosecution of several people, including an FSB officer.”

But these events occurred already in 2020, and Matus in January 2018 sentenced to five years in a maximum security colony in the Yarovaya case. The term was departed in the pre -trial detention center, also later reduced for a year. As a result, Matus, according to him, went out ato in 2019: “Yes, I was quiet, I returned all the money, I think that I redeemed the guilt.”

In 2022, Matus, according to his version, emigrated to Turkey, opened a transport company and restaurant in Istanbul. And in 2023-he returned to Russia, already in connection with his new work-to Nevzlin.

Matus claims that the FSB is in no way connected: “I do not communicate with any FSB services. I was not in the country for four years, before that I was sitting. I don’t even know who works there now. ”

According to Matus, he met Nevzlin through the editorial office of the MBH Media, which in 2020 found him to ask for comments about the Miniihmetov case, which Matus tried to blame for a bribe. On the website of the MBH Media published only the news in the case of Miniakhmetov, Matus is not mentioned in them.

“In 2020, I was the editor-in-chief of“ MBH Media ”and I can say with all responsibility that I did not know anything about the existence of a person named Matus (I first heard this surname in connection with the last events),” says Veronika Kutsyllo, who headed the publication before his closure in 2021. -And I do not know anything about any “MBH Media” note (not news) about the miniakhmetov case, for which the editors could look for sources of this kind. Therefore, I assume that Matus is lying. "

A new version of Matus about how he received incriminating evidence for non -Zelevin

According to Matus, described by the FBK, pancakes and nonsense quarreled on the basis of the fee, which Nevzlin allegedly promised Blinov for the beating of Volkov. After that, Nevzlin allegedly instructed Matus to select the phones from Blinov and his assistants, which were used to organize the assassination attempt. However, later Matus allegedly learned about the attempt preparing for him and contacted the FBK. The investigation also notes that the motive of Andrei Matus is unclear, and his money and assistance from the fund in “visa matters” were interested.

In a conversation with The Bell, Matus told about this: “In March, Blinov came out on me and said that he was working directly on non -zero and has such materials, I did not know anything about it,” he claims. - He called Nevzlin, he changed his voice, said to meet, not make any decisions and then discuss with him. A few days later a representative of Blinov arrived. My eyes got out on the forehead, Blinov had something like his “kill-brigade”, which complied with such orders. In general, the representative of Blinov brought phones, and I took them for check, and then I just refused to return and pay money, that's how it turned out so easily, I myself was surprised. ”

According to his statement, he proposed this information except FBK, but when they began to “delay” the publication, he attributed materials to the police, which, according to him, could transfer them to RT.

Where did Matus get ties in power circles

The first connections Matus owes the parents to the business, his acquaintance claims. The Bell managed to find out who they are. Both worked in Russian Railways: mother Elena Matus - a librarian in the subordinate company of the Chernomorye sanatorium, father Dmitry Matus - at the Sochi Directorate for the construction of Russian Railways. In 2010, Dmitry Matus, along with partners, founded the Elmastroy-Service company, which submitted applications for state orders for the repair, cleaning and dry cleaning of the Sochi Border Administration of the FSB and the Kremlin sanatorium “Sochi”.

And in 2014, Matus Sr. headed LLC Imeretinsky Service-a company responsible for the economic issues of the Imeretinsky resort belonging to Oleg Deripaska. The resort appeared on the site of the Olympic village, which Deripaska structures were built to the Sochi Olympics. Imeretinsky eventually became one of the largest hotel complexes in the country.

In Imeretinsky, high -ranking officials, security officials and other statesmen often stopped. And Dmitry Matus met many of them personally, says a lawyer who is well acquainted with his son.

At first, the Matus Jr. at first used his father’s connections, but at some point his father and his son quarreled and Andrei “went into free swimming,” says the same interlocutor. Andrei Matus himself says that he never intersected with his father at work, since his father has been working in hiring all his life, and he is “for himself”.

Now Dmitry Matus leads the companies that are part of the Burduguz Park-Hotel group, which owns the resort of the same name in the Irkutsk region. The Burduguz Park Hotel on the Jurlits chain also belongs to En+ Group, where Deripaska is the largest owner with a share of 44%. This summer, EN+ was also bought by Azimuth of Vladivostok, one of the Azimut chain hotels Alexander Klyachin.

Matus and VChK OGPU

The anonymous telegram channel "Cheka OGPU" since September 19 publishes a conversation with Matus. There, Matus mentions that he talked with the correspondent of The Bell and supposedly answered our question about "paying for tax debt received from the FBK with money."
