Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and US presidential candidate from the Republican Party Donald Trump met at Trump Tower in New York, reports the Ukrainian publication European Pravda. The meeting lasted about an hour.

“I think we have a common view that the war in Ukraine must be stopped, and Putin cannot win. Ukraine must win. And I want to discuss with you the details of the “victory plan,” Zelensky said at the beginning of the meeting.

The President of Ukraine recalled that the meeting is taking place on the eve of the presidential elections in the United States. According to him, it is already important to discuss joint steps between Kyiv and Washington after November. “So I decided to meet with both candidates,” he said. In turn, Trump repeated his statement that if he wins the election, he will “quickly resolve the issue” with the war in Ukraine. “We have very good relations [with Zelensky], and I also have very good relations, as you know, with Putin. And I think if we win [the election], we will resolve this very quickly,” the Republican candidate said.
