In the Pskov region, bailiffs began recruiting contract soldiers for the war in Ukraine

Employees of military registration and enlistment offices and police are promised bonuses for high performance in signing contracts with the Ministry of Defense

Bailiffs in the Pskov region began sending out letters offering to conclude a military contract to write off debts. To clarify the terms of this “deal”, you are asked to come to the bailiff for an appointment, and they are immediately warned about liability for failure to appear. Pskov politician Nikolai Kuzmin spoke about this in his Telegram channel.

“It is reported that the amount of pay for military personnel under the contract exceeds the payments provided for those mobilized, apparently hinting that all men in Russia are in limbo and can be mobilized at any day. And this is a fact, since the decree on partial mobilization continues to be in force,” Kuzmin wrote, recalling that any person “has the option to legally write off their debts through bankruptcy.”

As Pskovskaya Gubernia reports, other services are also trying to stimulate the recruitment of contract soldiers. The head of Pskov, Boris Elkin, signed a decree according to which employees of the military registration and enlistment office, the selection point for military service under contract and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Pskov will be paid bonuses for high performance in recruiting citizens for contract service.

Despite all these measures, so far only natives of Africa are happy to accept contracts; to date, 35 representatives of African countries have already been sent from the Pskov region to fight in Ukraine. Only in the last group of 16 recruits there were two of them.

As calculated by the Volya telegram channel, residents of the Pskov region need to work for 30-39 years to earn an amount equivalent to payments upon concluding a contract for the war in Ukraine and upon the death of a serviceman. At the same time, in the Pskov region, according to channel estimates, 0.2-0.29% of the entire male population of the region died.

According to Mediazona*, over 2.5 years, 572 natives of the Pskov region died in the war in Ukraine.
