Ukrainian drones attacked the Borisoglebsk military airfield in the Voronezh region at night. UNIAN and Ukrayinska Pravda reported this with reference to sources in the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
The BBC Russian service notes that at least six fires in the area of the Borisoglebsk airfield were recorded from space by the FIRMS system of the American space agency NASA . Local public pages also published photographs of aircraft wreckage and fires .
According to interlocutors of UNIAN and Ukrayinska Pravda, drones from the SBU, Special Operations Forces (SSO) and various units of the Ukrainian army participated in the operation. According to publication sources, the targets of the attack were parking lots of Su-34 and Su-35 aircraft, warehouses with adjustable bombs and aviation fuel storage areas. It is unknown what kind of damage was caused.
The Russian military has not yet commented on the attack. At the same time, the governor of the Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, wrote in his telegram channel that at night the air defense forces “suppressed and destroyed” about three dozen Ukrainian drones in the region. According to him, there were no injuries. Gusev does not specify where exactly the attacks took place.
