The court in Turkey blocked access to the Discord messenger in connection with suspicions of the service "in sexualized violence against children and obscenities." This was announced by the head of the Turkish Ministry of Justice Yylmaz Tunch.
"We are determined to protect our youth and children from harmful and criminal publications on the Internet. We will not allow to shake the foundation of our social structure," Tunch wrote.
The decision to block was made after the murder of two women by a 19-year-old young man, writes Reuters. It was reported that a crime praised the discord, which caused public indignation against some groups on the platform.
Yesterday, October 8, discord was blocked in Russia because of the content that previously demanded to remove Roskomnadzor. Among the publications, the department claimed, there was children's pornography, calls for extremism and propaganda of drug use. The ban on the discord caused discontent, including in the wire community. After blocking the service, Roskomnadzor underwent hacker attacks.
