The number of sentences issued by adolescents in politically motivated cases has increased significantly in Russia after the outbreak of war in Ukraine in 2022. This was reported by "Mediazona" with reference to the data of the judicial department.

The most sharp increase in sentences to minors in particularly grave articles related to politics occurred in the first half of 2024, follows from statistics. Adolescents were found guilty of Gosizmen, the justification of terrorism, sabotage and other crimes.

Ob accused by most criminal articles in Russia can become people, not under 16 years of age. At the same time, for some crimes can be held accountable since the age of 14.

After the outbreak of war in Ukraine, adolescents began to massively prosecute under articles about sabotage or terrorist attack (usually for arson), as well as for comments on the Internet (justification of terrorism and other articles), the Mediazone found out.

Prior to the start of the war, in Ukraine, less than ten sentences were sentenced to schoolchildren under articles about the Stateismman, sabotage, violation of transport, justification of terrorism and a terrorist attack in one half -year.
