"Important Stories": in 2024, Russian courts made a record number of decisions on state -owned cases

For the first half of 2024, 52 people were condemned in the affairs of the Stateizer - this is 3.5 times more than for the same period last year (39 people), they found out “important stories”.

As the journalists calculated, in 2024 18 people were condemned for espionage - this is nine times more than in the first half of 2023. Two more received sentences for confidential cooperation with a foreign state (275.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) - the same number of convicts under this article was for the entire 2023.

According to “important stories”, the number of sentences on “fakes” and “discrediting” has grown. For the first half of 2024, under the article on Fakes, 40 people were already convicted. For the entire 2023, 65 people received such sentences.

Also in Russia they began to pursue more often under articles about terrorism. For the first half of 2024, 366 people received sentences on them - this is 11% more than for the same period of the previous year.

In addition, the number of sentences has grown under articles about extremism. For the same period, 340 people were held accountable for them, which is 21% higher than the indicator of that period in 2023.

As the New European Europe previously wrote , in 2024 the register of terrorists and extremists replenished 93 minors-this is a record in a minimum of six years.

20 adolescents were on the list without reaching the age of 16. The list itself, including adult Russians, is now growing twice as fast as at the beginning of the war.
