Krasnoyarsk: teenagers were given 6 years for sabotage

The Krasnoyarsk Regional Court sentenced two 17-year-old local residents to 6 years in the educational colony for sabotage. Another person involved in the case, but already an adult, sentenced to 6.5 years in a colony. This was reported by the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office.

According to investigators, in July 2023, one of the minor accused received on the Internet from unknown persons the task of damaging the railway infrastructure between the Sharipovo and Shush stations. He hacked and set fire to the battery and relay cabinets. For this, the accused had to receive a reward.

After the first successful action, he committed a second crime already with his acquaintances again broke the battery and relay cabinets on the same section of the railway.

The defendants were detained in the summer of 2023, at that time all three were minors.

• After the start of a full -scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in Russia, cases of sabotage on the railway became more frequent. For arson of relay cabinets, very young people are often detained. Investigators argue that some “curators from the Internet” are knocked on such actions by adolescents who promise children money. There is no evidence of the existence of such "curators" or information about their detention in public access.
• The human rights project Avtozak Live previously calculated that in Russia since the beginning of full -scale Russian aggression in Ukraine, 547 people have become accused of criminal cases of arson or attempts to arson of military registration and enlistments, administrative buildings and railway transport facilities. 148 cases are associated with arson on the railway.
• There were no dead as a result of such actions, the amount of damage, as a rule, is insignificant. Nevertheless, the firewalls are judged by heavy articles about terrorist attacks or sabotage.
• In March 2024, the Government of the Russian Federation approved the bill introducing criminal liability under the article on sabotage since the age of 14. Now a criminal punishment on it can be obtained if the crime was committed by a person who has reached 16 years.
• In addition, the last 2023 became a record for state reception affairs in the history of modern Russia. The number of cases under the articles about the Stateizmen over the year has almost doubled, and over ten years - almost 10 times, the human rights project "First Department" analyzed the judicial practice.
• The FSB regularly regularly initiates the cases of stateizmen or espionage against Ukrainians who fled from the war or ethnic Ukrainians living in Russia.
