In Yakutia, the deputies called for abolishing all the shelters for homeless dogs in the republic so as not to spend municipal budgets on them, and to kill homeless dogs "according to rustic custom." The words of the deputies are given by RusNews.
The deputy of the local parliament from "United Russia" Vladimir Koschin announced the proposal to abolish state shelters, and the homeless dogs would be sentenced to euthanasia by default.
The deputy from the "new people" Nyurguyun Zamorshchikova spoke about the "village custom" to kill the dog if she bit the child. She also called on the veterinarians “as you like” to recognize the homeless dogs as aggressive so that they can be sent to euthanasia.
They made statements after the Constitutional Court of Yakutia recognized euthanasia legal only in case of the danger of an animal for humans. Prior to this, in the republic for three months the law on the murder of homeless animals, which were not taken from the shelter in 30 days, worked for three months.
The zoo defenders challenged the law in the Constitutional Court. On September 17, the norm was invalid. Disputes flared up again when homeless dogs bit a schoolgirl in the village of Chulman on October 7.
Then a member of the Public Chamber of Yakutia called for destroying all homeless dogs in the republic, explaining the lack of financing to solve the problem of "military time".
“Neither the ruble should be in favor of wild, wandering dogs where they are. At least in the megalopolis, even in Yakutsk, even in the Nerying, at least in any village. A complete refusal of caring from them. They must be destroyed. These are our laws, the so-called humane, when we ourselves know that in wartime it is not to humanity in various aspects,” said Vinokurova.
A few days later, because of this incident, the head of the administration of the village of Chulman Stalik Deryagin was detained on charges of negligence.
