The French network of hypermarkets "Auchan" announced the sale of business in Russia. It is reported by La Lettre.
According to the publication belonging to the Mulliez group, the company has already found a local buyer and entered the final stage of negotiations. The name of the buyer is kept secret, but, as La Lettre writes, the signing of the transaction may occur in the coming weeks. In addition to leaving Russia, Auchan plans to turn a business in Hungary, but stay in Ukraine.
Nevertheless, the group has yet to go through the coordination procedure with Russian government commissions. They allow the sale of foreign assets, but usually try to reduce the price in favor of local buyers who are often close to the Kremlin, the newspaper writes.
