The opposition in Georgia announced the end of the protest against the results of the parliamentary elections

Protesters against the results of the parliamentary elections on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi declared their protest over. This was reported by Novaya Gazeta Europe, Dozhd TV channel, blogger Nikolai Levshits , as well as Russian government agencies.

Novaya Gazeta Europe and Dozhd write that at the end of the action, the participants sang the anthems of the European Union and Georgia. After this, the end of the action was announced from the stage and the protesters began to disperse.

The main thing was the demand for new elections under the supervision of international organizations, writes Levshits.

According to Dozhd, the rally was peaceful and there were no arrests. Novaya Gazeta Europe writes that after the end of the action, clashes with security forces began on the street on April 9. Before this, telegram channels wrote that security forces were gathering on the streets adjacent to Rustaveli Avenue, but no arrests or clashes were reported.

International observers indicated that the voting took place with violations.
