In a publication from school No. 101 in the city of Vikhorevka, Irkutsk region, Veles Night is called the “Slavic analogue of Halloween.” The event itself, as stated, was held “in the style of “witch gatherings at the cauldron”.”

At a school in the village of Aleksandrovka in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, students came to Veles Night in traditional Slavic costumes. “Veles’ night is a night of great power, when the boundaries between worlds become thinner, when the spirits of our ancestors and those who will live after us appear as an integral whole, together with the dying and renewed world, with the elements and their power,” the publication says .
Pupils of the school in the Karelian village of Sosnovets “put on outfits to ward off all the bad things and celebrate the holidays” and also “collected the seals of Veles.”
The Russian Orthodox Church stated that the celebration of Veles Night is a “crime against the law”, behind which Ukraine stands. Metropolitan Eugene in the episode of the evening program of the Spas TV channel entitled “How does the pagan heresy penetrate into schools?” called Velesov’s night a “show” that is “a crime against the law, parents and children.”
“I have no doubt that behind this project are the same forces that generate phone calls to our law-abiding citizens. The same telephone fraud, the same destructive activity from outside,” the Metropolitan said.

Evgeniy added that they came up with the idea of holding Velesov’s night in order to “monetize some merch or attributes.” “Or monetization from our, in big quotes, Western partners - receiving money from certain funds and sources, again we return to the topic of Ukraine and its sponsors,” the Metropolitan said.
In the same issue, religious scholar Igor Ivanishko stated that the Night of Veles is “a remake, promoted through various fan fiction,” and the information that the Slavs worshiped Veles is a myth, originally “invented by sectarians” in Ukraine. He also claims that the data about the Veles Night was taken from literature recognized as extremist in Russia.
In some schools , instead of Halloween, they held “Pumpkin Rescue,” which was celebrated at Izhevsk school No. 16 last year. At the same time, Hieromonk Macarius called him “insane ignorance” and “outright idiocy.”
Let us remind you that we previously talked about how brochures about “ prevention of quadrobing ” began to be distributed in kindergartens and schools, and also that the State Duma wants to ban quadrobers , but cannot decide who and how to punish.
