The FBI reported on the prevention of a terrorist attack on American soil. Security officials have detained a suspect who allegedly planned to attack a power plant in Nashville with a drone carrying an explosive device. This is stated in a statement by the US Department of Justice.
The suspect was reportedly identified as 24-year-old Tennessee resident Skyler Phillipi. He was charged with attempted use of weapons of mass destruction and destruction of an energy infrastructure facility.

After the attack on the power plant in Nashville, Phillipi planned to carry out similar terrorist attacks on other facilities of the American energy infrastructure, the US Department of Justice noted.
"This case serves as yet another warning to those who seek to sow violence and chaos in the name of hatred by attacking our nation's critical infrastructure: The Justice Department will find you, we will foil your plot, and we will bring you to justice," Attorney General Merrick Garland promised. According to him, the suspect planned to carry out a terrorist attack to promote the ideology of “white supremacy.”
