Two Russian soldiers shot a family of nine people
Two Russian servicemen received life sentences for mass murder in occupied Volnovakha. A court in Rostov-on-Don found Stanislav Rau and Anton Sopov guilty and sentenced them to serve their sentences in a special regime correctional colony, Kommersant reported .
The murder occurred on the night of October 28, 2023. Rau and Sopov were detained based on statements from neighbors and recordings from two surveillance cameras. A neighbor saw soldiers leaving the crime scene on a motorcycle. One of the defendants rented a room in a house not far from the home of the Kapkanets family and kept a “cross motorcycle” in the yard, journalists quoted the investigation materials.
