The Moscow Museum of Gulag History has suspended work since November 14. This is stated on his website.
Specialists from the Center for Expertise, Research and Testing in Construction identified “fire safety violations.”
“According to the conclusion, they pose a threat to the safety and comfort of museum visitors and must be eliminated,” the announcement says.
It is not known whether the museum will continue to operate after these violations are eliminated. Representatives of the museum noted that visitors will be able to return money for purchased tickets at any time.
- The Museum of the History of the Gulag, dedicated to the memory of victims of communist repression, was established by the Moscow government in 2001. It is located in a building on 1st Samotechny Lane.
