The Gulag History Museum in Moscow has been suspended from November 14. An announcement about this appeared on the museum’s website. Visitors who bought tickets on excursions and events in advance will return the money.

As the official reason for the closing of the museum, it is indicated that the audit revealed fire safety violations in the building. "According to the conclusion, they pose a threat to the safety and comfortable stay of visitors and should be eliminated," the announcement said.

On October 30, on the day of memory of the victims of political repression, the museum held the action "Prayer of Memory". Throughout the day, the names of the “big terror” repressed during the Stalinsky during the Stalin.
