Hezbollah spokesman Mohammad Afif killed in Israeli strike on Beirut

Mohammad Afif, who was in charge of Hezbollah's media relations, was killed in an Israeli Defense Forces airstrike on Beirut, Lebanese intelligence sources told Reuters.

The strike, according to the agency's interlocutors, was carried out on a building in the Ras al-Naba area in the center of Beirut, and not on the suburb of the Lebanese capital Dahiya, which has housed Hezbollah's headquarters for many years.

Many residents of Dahiya moved to Ras al-Naba, Lebanese security sources said, after the Israeli military began regularly striking Hezbollah-linked targets in Beirut. There were no warnings about the strike on Ras al-Naba, and no residents were evacuated, they added.

Mohammad Afif was a longtime media adviser to Hassan Nasrallah, who led Hezbollah for more than 30 years, and served as the movement's spokesman. Hassan Nasrallah was killed on September 27 in an Israeli airstrike on Hezbollah headquarters in Dahiya.
