Nyuta Federmesser announced her resignation as director of the Moscow Center for Palliative Care

The founder of the Vera Hospice Fund, Nyuta Federmesser, announced her resignation as director of the Moscow Palliative Care Center. Her press secretary, Araksi Muradova, told Takim Dela about this.

Federmesser will resign from office on December 2, 2024.

“Eight years of my directorship are over. It was an amazing, life-changing and very rewarding experience. How do I feel now? I want to cry. Cry and sleep. And this morning I realized what these tears of mine are like, which are interspersed with silence, a straight back and instructions to employees,” Federmesser said in a message.

She also notes that she plans to focus on working as a social policy adviser to the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, at the Vera Foundation, in the Popular Front project “Region of Care” and the project “The Most Closed Exhibition”.

In September 2023, Federmesser was expelled from the Russian Government Council on Trusteeship in the Social Sphere. This happened after Federmesser spoke out in the State Duma against amendments to the law on the provision of psychiatric care, which abolished independent control in psychoneurological boarding schools and reduced the rights of residents.
