In St. Petersburg, the driver was convicted of the case of cooperation with foreigners

The court in St. Petersburg sentenced to three years a colony of general regime of the driver Alexander Stalberg. He was found guilty of the case of confidential cooperation with foreigners. This was reported in the press service of the city courts.

Stalberg is 44 years old, he lived in the Moscow region and until 2021 worked as a driver in Mosgortrans. His arrest became known in June.

The case was considered closed. The press service stated that Stalberg pleaded guilty.

An article about "confidential cooperation" was introduced into the Russian Criminal Code in July 2022. The maximum punishment on it is eight years of imprisonment.

In Russia, there is no accurate statistics on how many cases were initiated under an article on confidential cooperation. The FSB does not publish this information. The North Realiy estimated that from the moment the new article is introduced into the Criminal Code in Russia, at least 56 criminal cases on confidential cooperation have been instituted. The most frequent accusation is a “connection with Ukraine” or with the legion “Freedom of Russia”.
