On November 29, the Biysk City Court of the Altai Territory received the case of 40-year-old local doctor Anton Goncharov, who is charged with financing FBK, which is recognized as an “extremist organization.” This was reported by Mediazona; the case file is available on the court’s website.
The press service of the regional Investigative Committee previously reported that the case under the article on financing the activities of an extremist organization (Part 1 of Article 282.3 of the Criminal Code) was transferred to court. In the message, the security forces did not specify the name of the person involved or the name of the organization. Mediazona found out that we are talking about Goncharov, a neurologist with 17 years of experience.
Goncharov’s wife, in a conversation with the publication’s journalists, clarified that her husband is charged with financing the activities of FBK, but she does not know other details of the case. The publication was unable to contact the defendant himself, as he was prohibited from using the telephone as a preventive measure.
“We hope everything will work out. This situation turned out to be unpleasant, everything is not very good, of course. But what can you do,” Mediazona reports the words of Goncharov’s wife.
According to investigators, in 2021 the accused subscribed to a YouTube channel “promoting the ideals of an organization recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation.” “Being a supporter of this organization and sharing its main ideas,” the man followed a link to a page with a detailed description of how to transfer funds to the organization “in conditions of secrecy and anonymity.” It is clarified that Goncharov “systematically” supported the organization financially until February 2022.
