On the morning of December 4, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that 35 drones were shot down over the country’s territory. 12 - over the Rostov region, six - over the Bryansk region, five - over the Krasnodar region, four - over the Belgorod and Ryazan regions, two - over the Kursk region and one each - over the Astrakhan and Kaluga regions. Chechnya was not mentioned in the report.

Several telegram channels, however, wrote that at approximately 4:50 am Grozny was attacked, namely on the territory of the special police regiment named after Akhmat Kadyrov. “Before anyone else, well, almost” clarifies that we are talking about the barracks. No injuries were reported.

The Baza Telegram channel writes that at the Grozny airport at night they introduced the “Carpet” plan, which is used during drone attacks. As a result, one flight to Moscow was delayed.

The regiment named after Akhmat Kadyrov has been fighting in Ukraine since 2022

Kadyrov's regiment was formed in 2004. In March 2021, Novaya Gazeta published a story by former regiment soldier Suleiman Gezmakhmaev about extrajudicial executions in Chechnya. After this, relatives of the regiment fighters accused the author of the material, Elena Milashina, of provocations. The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said that Gezmakhmaev invented this story to obtain political asylum in Europe. The Chechen authorities organized rallies demanding that Novaya Gazeta be closed and the publication's journalists brought to justice.

Since 2022, the regiment has taken part in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Drones first attacked the territory of Chechnya at the end of October. Then the Vladimir Putin Special Forces University in Gudermes, one of the main points in Russia for recruiting soldiers for the war, came under attack. As a result, a fire occurred and the roof of the building was damaged. Initially, no casualties or injuries were reported, but Kadyrov later stated that Ukrainian prisoners had died as a result of the attack. “As I said earlier, there were no casualties on our part as a result of the attack. BUT! They are among the Ukrainian prisoners. At each strategic site in the republic, up to 10 Ukrainian prisoners are held, including on the territory of the RUS. Kiev, trying to harm us, today killed its own soldiers,” wrote the head of Chechnya.
