On October 7, 2023, a massive rocket attack was launched on Israel from the Gaza Strip, and Hamas militants invaded the country. In response, Israel has been shelling the Gaza Strip on a daily basis, has imposed a complete blockade of the strip, has launched ground aggression there, and has carried out mass raids and arrests of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

In the first 14 months of the war in the Gaza Strip, more than 44 thousand people were killed, more than 105 thousand were injured, and about 75% of the total population were forced to leave their homes.

At the beginning of the war, Israel estimated losses on its territory at 1,400 dead, but at the beginning of the second month reduced the estimate to 1,200, with more than five thousand more people wounded. 100 people from Israel may remain hostage to Hamas. January 10

Military actions and casualties
