In the US state of Massachusetts, police rescued a man who, while running away from them, jumped into a chimney and got stuck there. Local television station WJAR reported on this story.
The day before, in the city of Fall River, police conducted a search in one of the private houses. At some point, two men who were inside climbed onto the roof of the house. One of them jumped down onto a parked car and ran away, while the second, 33-year-old Robert Langlais, decided to “play Santa Claus, but with much less grace,” and jumped into the chimney, the TV channel reported.
“He fell like Santa Claus. I thought, 'Oh my gosh, he's definitely going to get stuck in there,'" said the man's neighbor, Jim Medeiros, and he was right.

When the police climbed to the roof, Langle, stuck in the chimney, begged them for rescue. "Get me out of here, brother!" - he asked one of the law enforcement officers. “You’re an idiot,” the policeman responded to him.
As a result, to get the fugitive, the police had to call for reinforcements. Firefighters who arrived at the scene dismantled part of the chimney and rescued Langle. He was immediately taken to a local hospital, and after examination he was arrested. Langlais was charged with several charges, including drug possession. Police are still looking for the second man who jumped from the roof.
