A report of “discredit” was drawn up against the artist Ellen Sheidlin

The Petrogradsky District Court of St. Petersburg received an administrative case about “discrediting” the army against the artist Ellen Sheidlin (Elena Sheidlina), Mediazona drew attention .

The reason for drawing up a protocol against her was several posts in her personal telegram channel, ZakS.ru clarifies . In one of them, Sheidlin talked about her emotional state after reading the news about a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The date for the hearing in the artist’s case has not yet been set.

Ellen Sheidlin is one of the most famous Russian representatives of contemporary art, she sells paintings and NFTs for tens of thousands of dollars. 4.1 million people follow her Instagram account.

Critics often compare Sheidlin's work to that of Cindy Sherman, Marina Abramovic and Andy Warhol. In July 2017, her first personal exhibition, “Sheidlin’s Universe,” took place in St. Petersburg. Ellen's exhibitions then took place all over the world, including Tokyo, Florence, London, Paris, and New York.

This year, Sheidlin was included in the Forbes rating of “30 promising Russians under 30 years old.”

She is currently in Seoul, where she is studying sculpture.
