The Ministry of Internal Affairs proposed to hire those mobilized for police service without competition and certification

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has developed a draft presidential decree, according to which citizens during the period of mobilization can be hired to serve in the police without competition and certification. The document was published on the portal of regulatory legal acts, and is now undergoing anti-corruption examination.

The authors of the document proposed, during the period of mobilization, to employ citizens to serve in the Ministry of Internal Affairs from the reserve, both for vacant positions and for positions created during wartime.

According to the initiative, citizens going to serve in the Ministry of Internal Affairs during mobilization will not undergo certification, tests for assignment of a qualification title and testing for professional suitability to act in conditions involving the use of physical force, special equipment and firearms. We are also talking about psychological testing.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that only citizens who have no criminal record can join the department. Those mobilized themselves are exempt from providing information about income, expenses and property.

As of November 1, 2024, the shortage of personnel in the internal affairs bodies in the country amounted to 173.8 thousand people - 18.8% of the staffing level, department representative Irina Volk previously stated .
