A state of emergency has been introduced in Anapa

In the morning, fuel oil that spilled during the crash of two tankers in the Kerch Strait washed up on the Black Sea coast in the Krasnodar Territory, the head of the region, Veniamin Kondratyev, reported in his telegram channel.

“This morning, while monitoring the coastline, stains of fuel oil were discovered. Oil products washed ashore for several tens of kilometers from the village of Veselovka in the Temryuk region to the village of Blagoveshchenskaya in Anapa,” the governor said.

Teams of rescuers and volunteers were sent to the scene to eliminate the consequences of pollution, Kondratyev added. According to him, 267 people and 50 pieces of equipment are involved in the work.

Due to an oil spill, a state of emergency has been introduced in Anapa, the village of Veselovka and the village of Blagoveshchenskaya, the city administration reported .

Regional authorities did not specify exactly how many kilometers of coastline are contaminated with oil products. From Kondratyev’s statement it follows that fuel oil stains were found over a distance of 20 kilometers, the Agency calculated.

At the same time, as the publication noted, in reality the pollution has already reached Anapa. Now the oil slick is moving towards the central beach of the city, local blogger Yuri Ozarovsky told the Agency. Journalists calculated that in this case, the environmental disaster had already affected at least 35 kilometers of the coast.

Meanwhile, Baza stated that the third tanker from the Volgoneft series, loaded with fuel oil, has sent a distress signal in the area of ​​the port of Kavkaz in the Black Sea. According to the telegram channel, a cargo leak occurred on the Volgoneft-109 vessel.

As Interfax was told by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Krasnodar Territory, “the tanker is currently at anchorage, the situation is not critical.” RIA Novosti, citing a source in the emergency services, reported that there was no leak of oil products from Volgoneft-109.

On Sunday, December 15, the ships Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239 crashed in the Kerch Strait due to a storm. According to emergency services, the tankers were transporting a total of about 9.2 thousand tons of fuel oil. As a result of the crash, an oil spill began.
