The State Duma forbade the "foreign Agents" to dispose of rental income

The State Duma adopted a law prohibiting people included in the list of so -called foreign agents to dispose of part of their income.

According to the document, persons recognized by foreign agents will be required to open a special ruble account. It will be credited with income from the sale and rental of property, including housing and cars, from deposits and shares, as well as from the use of the results of intellectual activity and brands.

When introducing the bill, it was assumed that only income from intellectual activity would be credited to the special account, but then amendments were made regarding the income from the lease and sale of property.

It will be possible to dispose of the received funds only after the exclusion from the register of "foreign agents", which is rare. Commenting on the adoption of the law, the State Duma chairman Vyacheslav Volodin wrote that "those who betrayed Russia will not be enriched at the expense of its citizens."

The Russian authorities can declare the ino -agent of anyone who is under "foreign influence", the definition of which is spelled out very vaguely in the law. Now the registry has more than 600 "foreign agents": individuals, media, NPOs and movements.

• The status of "Ino -Agent" obliges among other things to report on the movement of funds on personal accounts quarterly and march all public messages. For errors in the report or lack of marking, punishment threatens to imprisonment.
• “Ino -agents” are prohibited from being elected, being members of election commissions and observers in the elections, teaching in state institutions, being organizers of public events and serving in the army under a contract. The Russian authorities are developing new restrictions on “foreign agents” in rights.
