Christopher Nolan adapts Homer's Odyssey
Director Christopher Nolan is adapting Homer's ancient Greek poem The Odyssey. The film company Universal Pictures announced this on the social network X.
“This is a mythical action film that was filmed all over the world using brand new IMAX technology,” the release said. It also notes that The Odyssey will be released in theaters worldwide on July 17, 2026.
The main roles in the film will be played by Hollywood actors Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong'o, Anne Hathaway and Charlize Theron, writes The Hollywood Reporter.

“To be completely honest, I really don’t understand what this is all about. I'm very excited, but little is known about the project. I met Nolan and it was amazing,” Holland admitted last week.
Filming will begin in the first half of 2025, according to Variety. The publication notes that Nolan is going to write the script and act as a producer along with his wife Emma Thomas.
The Odyssey is one of the oldest works, which was written around the 8th or 7th century BC. The poem tells about the adventures of the king of the island of Ithaca, who returns home after the nine-year Trojan War.
