Saratov and Engels attacked Ukrainian drones at night, an oil depot caught fire
Ukrainian drones attacked Saratov and Engels on the night of January 8, said Governor Roman Busargin.
“There is debris hitting an industrial facility in Engels. Fire crews and emergency services are on the scene,” said the head of the region. He did not write which company he was talking about, but later clarified that “a fire occurred” there due to a drone attack.

The Ministry of Defense reported that 11 Ukrainian drones were shot down in the Saratov region overnight. In addition, four drones, according to the military department, were shot down in the Kursk and Rostov regions, two in the Krasnodar region, one in the Volgograd region, and four more over the Sea of Azov. Governor of the Rostov region Yuri Slyusar reported that drones attacked the Millerovsky, Chertkovsky and Azov districts. “There are no deaths or destruction on the ground,” he wrote. Other regional heads did not report the consequences of the attack.
The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladnov, on the morning of January 8, said that “one ammunition was fired and attacks were carried out using six drones” in the village of Politotdelsky, the villages of Dragunskoye, Nikolskoye, Pushkarnoye, Streletskoye, Khokhlovo, Cheremoshnoye and Shishino. Five drones, he said, were shot down by air defense systems. Three private houses and a car were damaged. Two more drones were shot down over the Valuysky municipal district, no casualties were reported. The Ministry of Defense did not report this.
