In the capital of Chad, N'Djamena, a shooting occurred near the presidential palace. This was reported by AFP, citing sources.

According to him, armed people entered the territory of the presidential complex. An AFP correspondent reported that all roads leading to the presidential residence were blocked and tanks could be seen on the city streets.

Al-Arabiya TV channel, citing sources, claims that the attack was carried out by militants of the Islamist group Boko Haram. The channel reports the dead and wounded.

Local residents told Reuters that they saw columns of military equipment moving towards the presidential palace.

In turn, an Al-Arabiya source close to the Chadian authorities said that the situation in the capital “is under control” and government troops managed to repel the militant attack.
