In Krasnoyarsk, two dogs, a husky and a Labrador, were locked in a garage on Second Bryanskaya Street. The animals spent two weeks there at sub-zero temperatures and without lighting, food or water. Siberian Express reports this.
As the publication writes, citing local residents, the dogs barked and howled in the garage until animal rights activists found out about them. Activists of the social movement “DogSpas” said that the authorities initially did not want to deal with the problem.

“A caring volunteer went around to everyone in the second circle: the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the prosecutor’s office, the administration - everyone shrugged their shoulders and offered to wait, maybe they’ll find someone who locked the dogs to die. At the same time, it is obvious that the lives of animals and their suffering are of no interest to anyone at all; if they die, that’s even better,” wrote the movement’s community.
Activists reported that the police and prosecutor's office saw no reason to open the garage, and called for media attention. Soon a post appeared in the community stating that the dogs were managed to be obtained “thanks to caring volunteers and their perseverance” - they opened the garage in the presence of the police, and then welded it back. The dogs were severely emaciated; the husky’s weight at that time was 12 kilograms.

Later, the community wrote that the owner of the garage died, but the owner of the dogs was alive, and they managed to find him. According to activists, he could “bring [the dogs] to a critical state in order to later collect money for their treatment, and, perhaps, steal [the animals] in order to return them later for a reward.”
Siberian Express notes that the dogs are now at the veterinarian. The DogSpas community added that the Ark of Hope organization is now taking care of the animals.
